Regional Admissions Recruiter - Minneapolis, MN
About the role
The Office of Admissions at the University of Missouri is seeking a Senior Student Recruitment Specialist to join our team. This position serves as Mizzou's regional representative for the Office of Admissions, residing in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. The successful candidate will manage recruitment efforts to achieve enrollment goals, communicate with prospective students and their families, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage an assigned recruitment territory by developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive recruitment strategy designed to achieve enrollment goals.
- Build and execute a dynamic recruitment plan that blends proven tactics with creative outreach tailored to the market, including attending college fairs, making travel arrangements, and conducting visits to high schools.
- Cultivate strong relationships with high school counselors and maintain accurate records in Slate CRM.
- Analyze recruitment outcomes and market trends, and adjust recruitment strategies based on data and performance metrics.
- Partner with alumni volunteers and regional alumni chapters to increase engagement, support recruitment initiatives, and strengthen Mizzou's visibility throughout the territory.
- Plan and host special recruitment events for prospective students within the market, collaborating with faculty, staff, and alumni to coordinate logistics.
- Inform prospective students and their parents about the University of Missouri’s academic programs, requirements, and life on campus, including attending some on and off-campus programs.
- Communicate with prospective students, parents, and high school counselors and present to groups ranging from 20-300 people.
- Build relationships with prospective students and their families to share the Mizzou experience.
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and periodically to Mizzou's campus for recruitment events, training, and professional development.
- Attend training sessions to maintain knowledge of current information on degree programs, residential life, and financial aid issues.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
- Enthusiasm for higher education and eagerness to join a fun and hard-working team.
- Experience with presenting.
- The ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the University of Missouri campus and programs.
Qualifications
- Passion for higher education and enthusiasm for helping students navigate the college search process.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with high school counselors and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or CRMs, including Slate.
- Experience using CRMs like Slate.
- Knowledge of the University of Missouri campus and programs.
