Regional Account Representative

About the role

The position involves driving sales of spare parts, field service opportunities, and equipment upgrades for thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. installed base, as well as nonthyssenkrupp machines, equipment, and systems. The role includes developing and implementing a long-term strategic sales plan for each customer, managing customer relationships, and providing technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a long-term strategic Sales plan for each customer.
  • Aim to grow existing customer accounts in sales revenue year-over-year while maintaining minimum current gross margin levels for all service products.
  • Implement strategies for upselling and cross-selling products and services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within cement and non-cement producing customers.
  • Provide market feedback to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential growth areas.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure accurate and timely responses to technical inquiries.
  • Address and resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the corporate organizational structure and identify internal sponsors for our solutions.
  • Conduct frequent site visits to understand customer requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Share regular updates and quarterly reports with improvement suggestions.
  • Use this information to refine sales strategies and stay competitive.
  • Perform client presentations and articulate our core values of the products and service solutions we are offering.
  • Utilize market research and other tools to uncover potential clients.
  • Establish and cultivate strong, long-term relationships with the account’s key decision makers.
  • Develops a comprehensive technical understanding for our service products and support our customers in selecting the best solution for their problems.
  • Track pipeline, forecasts, and update account plans as needed.
  • Keep CRM data accurate for reporting and analysis.

Requirements

  • High School degree or General Education Degree (GED) and proven experience in sales within the industrial or cement plant sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cement plant or non-cement plant equipment.
  • Demonstrated business acumen in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e., financials, strategic, and tactical thinking etc.
  • Excellent level of verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong desire to be successful.
  • Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment, and impeccable follow up ability is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new software tools.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.
  • Knowledge of customers and competitors is a plus.
