About the role

The Regional Account Representative is responsible for generating revenue growth in new and existing accounts. This position will employ a consultative selling approach to multi-location accounts within Rumpke’s footprint. The territory of this position is centered in Columbus, OH, with frequent travel and customer interface required.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new customers within the assigned territory offering Rumpke’s family of services
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial contracts for Rumpke and the customer
  • Meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual goals as set by the Company, region, and business unit
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of Customer Service Agreements
  • Pursue and close leads provided by the local region sales department, providing relevant feedback
  • Participate in regular sales meetings with the Company, region, business unit, and Sales Manager
  • Work closely with Rumpke hauling companies, William-Thomas Group, and other business units
  • Analyze customers’ waste profiles to provide opportunities to ‘right size’ service levels, reduce costs, and maintain profitability
  • Daily input of activity (closed business, new prospects, lost business, etc.) in Salesforce CRM and other required programs
  • Perform basic data entry relevant to opportunities and closed business
  • Submit timely reports and documentation pursuant to company policies
  • Complete all company-provided training sessions
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in business, marketing, sales, or related area required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum five years of sales-related experience within the waste industry; 2-3 years selling to large multi-site and/or industrial accounts
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing operations/applications
  • Prior experience in the waste industry with a strong knowledge of multi-location customers and prospects
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
  • No DUI’s or OVI’s within the last 5 years (or 2 in the last 10 years)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including negotiation expertise
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills for both customers and the company
  • Track record of cultivating additional lines of business within existing accounts and closing new accounts
  • Ability to develop marketing strategies that differentiate Rumpke from competitors
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or lead a team to meet or exceed goals
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft applications, and Outlook; SAP experience preferred

Working Conditions

  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
