Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate records of aggregate inventory items setup and transactions, including receipts, consumption and production entries and inventory adjustments.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of transaction completion.
- Perform regular reconciliations of physical inventory counts with system records and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory costs and variances, provide insights to support financial decision-making.
- Update the value of inventory to reflect changes in cost, market conditions or other factors.
- Oversee efforts to comply with standard processes related to inventory accounting and reporting.
- Oversee financial controls and policies to safeguard the organization’s inventory assets.
- Partner with Directors of Aggregates and Ready Mix for any initiatives, research, or other projects as required.
- Work closely with all procurement, production and sales teams to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Oversee the annual review of inventory for obsolescence.
- Perform the regular review of depletion rates, impairments and reserve disclosure reporting.
- Oversee the monthly close process related to inventory including depletion, reclamation, and any other related entries.
- Avoidance of travel, including overnight stays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing inventory records and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Manage team with members officed throughout the region.
- Proficient in complex accounting software setups including subledgers, GL mapping, and POS transaction interfacing.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Preferred Requirements
CPA or equivalent certification.
Experience working in a construction or manufacturing related industry.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory or general accounting.
