Region Director

About the role
The Region Director manages all facets of an assigned region with accountability for safety, customer experience, financial performance and expenses, operational efficiencies, as well as staff and asset management. Travels daily among area service areas to observe work activities, inspect facilities and operations, and coach managers and employees on expected standards and behaviors.
Key characteristics: ability to manage in a multi-unit setting, train and motivate employees with minimal daily supervision, and commitment to world-class safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safety Management
- Articulates a safety vision for the team.
- Ensures manager and employee compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and programs, including safety codes.
- Ensures employees have the training, tools, equipment, and vehicles to comply with safety policies.
- Customer Experience
- Makes customers a high priority; committed to exceeding customer needs.
- Proactively identifies and resolves problems impacting customer experience.
- Leads implementation of customer retention plans and visits.
- Manages community relations, including interactions with regulatory agencies, officials, and community leaders.
- Operational Efficiency
- Monitors region performance reports, dashboards, and utilization metrics to ensure efficient, productive, and profitable operations.
- Conducts weekly productivity and service planner calls with Delivery and Service Coordinators.
- Team Management
- Plans, directs, and manages staffing and development of managers and employees.
- Ensures professional appearance of AmeriGas facilities, equipment, and personnel.
- Communicates and updates critical performance metrics for the Area and Region to team members.
- Operating Expenses and Financial Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of P&L performance for assigned areas.
- Proactively involved in purchasing activities and expenditures for the region.
- Ensures accurate and timely approvals for payroll and accounts payable submissions.
- Manages pricing concessions and new pricing contract approvals.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; college degree strongly preferred.
- Five to seven years in a management position; multi-unit experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Skills
- Ability to analyze business reports and interpret performance metrics.
- Ability to create and execute a business plan; produce effective business communications.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, coaching, and development skills.
Working Conditions
Employee is regularly exposed to hazardous or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and flammable materials.
Pay
The pay for this position ranges from $139,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on skills, qualifications, degrees, certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales.
