Region 8 Field Operations Supervisor (Senior Public Service Administrator, Opt.8N)

About the role

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as Field Operations Supervisor. This individual will administer and manage all field operations within the region, including licensure, federal and complaint surveys of long-term care facilities. The Field Operations Supervisor is responsible for preparing and reviewing performance data, as well as developing performance improvement strategies which may include managing staffing levels and training needs. This individual will serve as supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Administers the implementation of the state licensure and federal certification survey process for long term care facilities within Region 8.
• Directs, coordinates, and reviews the long-term care activities of the field supervisors ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent across work units and are aligned with the directives of the Division Chief and the Assistant Division Chief.
• Serves as full-line supervisor.
• Serves as the Department liaison with the long-term care provider industry, the public, other state agencies and federal officials regarding survey activities.
• Develops and implements policy and procedures for field operation.
• Maintains communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding the long-term care survey process.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requirements

• Requires knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
• Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Public Health related programs.
• Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Four (4) or more years of management/supervisory experience in healthcare facilities.
• Certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid as having passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
• Master’s degree or higher in nursing or health care related degree.
• Four (4) or more years experience of state and federal regulations related to health care facilities.
• Four (4) or more years of experience in preparing and education or informational material.
• Four (4) or more years’ experience developing, reviewing, revising and implementing policies and procedures.
• Four (4) or more years of experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Smartsheet.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties.
• Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
• Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related polices and guidance.

Skills

• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to health care facilities.
• Experience in preparing and educating on health care facility policies and procedures.
• Experience in developing, reviewing, revising and implementing policies and procedures.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Smartsheet).

Anticipated Starting Salary $10,250 MONTHLY, Full Range $10,250 - $12,250 MONTHLY

Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM (1 hour lunch)
