Reginal Development Applications Engineer

About the role

KLA’s Global Products Group (GPG) is seeking a research scientist, software engineer, application development engineer, or senior product technology process engineer to work closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams within KLA and with customer engineers outside KLA. The role focuses on providing high-level applications support for complex Overlay measurement systems, including customer demonstrations, head-to-head activities, and tool performance characterization.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level applications support for complex Overlay measurement systems.
• Manage in-house customer demonstrations and head-to-head (H2H) activities at customer sites.
• Conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase tool performance and develop use cases to drive tool sales.
• Design experiments to characterize tool/subcomponent performance and demonstrate product value during alpha testing, beta testing, and pilot tool support in the ramp phase.
• Enable product penetration/adoption at customer facilities on-site.
• Develop recipes to model complex optical applications and optimize tool performance.
• Provide escalation support to onsite field service engineers, leading and coordinating remote/local troubleshooting.
• Characterize next-generation state-of-the-art overlay measurement products.
• Design test plans, collect and analyze data, and publish results and recommendations in the form of application notes and best-known methods.
• Form training materials and transfer new production knowledge and application capabilities to the worldwide apps support team.
• Work closely with division system and algorithm teams to develop software offline tools for data analysis and feature development.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have an MS or PhD in Physics or related engineering fields such as optics, materials science, and microelectronics.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be self-driven and independent, while still being a strong team player.
• Proficient in English and able to work effectively with different cultures.
• Matlab/Python experience is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience.
• Master’s Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years.
• Bachelor’s Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $102,000.00 – $173,400.00 Annually
