About the Role

Regal Cinemas at Colonie Center is looking for part-time cast members who are passionate about movies and want to be part of delivering the best possible service, cleanliness, and movie-going experience to our guests in a diverse, fun, energetic, and engaging environment.

Floor Staff/Cast Members are the face of Regal and will provide guest service by selling tickets, concessions, and/or working as an usher. The availability to work weekends is a must. Weekday opening and/or closing availability is preferred.

Floor Staff team members may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher. Positions may be classified as variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employees.

Responsibilities

  • General Duties:
    • Act as a representative of Regal in a way consistent with our mission statement and policies
    • Regular and consistent attendance
    • Handling of emergency situations when called upon
    • General cleaning duties
    • Compliance with company dress code
  • Box Office:
    • Operate POS system, handling cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed discount tickets, passes, and coupons with accuracy
    • Upsell/suggestive selling of Premium Viewing Experience (3D, RPX, IMAX)
    • Promote the Regal Crown Club program
    • Ensure tickets are sold in accordance with the MPAA rating system and company policy
    • Respond to phone calls and guest questions consistent with guest service philosophy
  • Concession:
    • Operate POS system, handling cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed coupons with accuracy
    • Manage concession stock inventory
    • Promote the Regal Crown Club program
    • Operate, prepare, and clean all concession-related equipment
    • Upsell/suggestive selling
    • Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety laws
    • Abide by all federal and state laws regarding breaks and/or meal periods
    • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable
    • If the theatre sells alcohol, you must be of legal age to sell or serve alcohol according to state or local laws
    • Read and understand training materials covering subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination
  • Usher:
    • Tear tickets, collect and deposit appropriate stubs, and direct patrons to their auditoriums
    • Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable
    • Manage crowd control and assist guests in finding seats
    • Enforce the MPAA rating system
    • Conduct in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, watch for film and content theft, and maintain a safe environment
    • Report problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management
    • Perform in-auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed by management
    • Clean auditoriums at the end of scheduled shows and maintain clean restrooms, lobby areas, hallways, and other areas outside of the auditorium
    • Monitor the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment
    • Assist with all opening and closing duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
    • Completion of cast certification program as a cast member and as box office cashier or progress toward completion required
    • If assigned to sell/serve alcohol, complete legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate, plus complete Regal Responsible Beverage Server training
  • Language Ability:
    • Possess good public speaking skills, listen effectively, and respond clearly and directly
  • Math Ability:
    • Perform calculations with speed and accuracy and identify and correct errors
  • Reasoning Ability:
    • Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes
    • Evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, and reach conclusions based on evidence
    • Take action beyond what is necessarily called for
    • Perform under pressure and/or opposition
  • Personal Skills:
    • Possess excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management
    • Establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives
  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
    • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • May occasionally be required to lift up to 60 pounds
    • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
