About the role
This position is set aside for people with a disability. Documented proof of disability is required prior to the interview. Responsibilities
- Picks up litter along roads, sidewalks, plaza areas, steps and all other designated areas according to contract specifications.
- Empties designated trashcans.
- Performs variety of laboring duties within contract specifications.
- Follows all safety policies, including site safety regulations, roadside safety procedures, and emergency plans.
- Follows proper emergency procedures.
- Completes all mandatory trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to stand 80% of the work time and sit 20%.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. and push/pull 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel and reach.
- Must be able to speak to communicate with supervisors, staff, co-workers, etc.
- Must possess good vision and hearing.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
- One (1) year of experience in the field of contract work (e.g. custodial, grounds maintenance, etc.) is preferred.
- A high school diploma and prior experience with individuals with differing abilities desirable or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
