About the role
The Refuse and Recycling Worker is responsible for collecting and distributing recycled materials to the local recycling center. The worker also collects and disposes of trash from all campus and CAS owned properties.
Responsibilities
- Maintains the recycling center in a clean and sanitary manner
- Collects and distributes recycled materials
- Pickup and disposal of trash from all campus and CAS owned properties
- May assist with catering events, set up and take down tents, deliver computers and office supplies, deliver and set up dining facility equipment
- Deliver redeemable recycled materials to local recycling centers
- Unload, receive, inspect, and store shipments of goods
- Manually deliver supplies to or receive supplies from campus facilities
- Deliver supplies to or purchase from local establishments
- Deliver vehicles to or pick up from service centers
- Knowledge of NYS health and sanitation code guidelines
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Violation-free NYS driver’s license
- Ability to operate a standard transmission truck
- Approved/Authorized by CAS insurance company to drive company vehicles
- Previous warehouse or stock clerk experience

Education and Experience
- Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Occasional computer use (Microsoft Word/Excel)
Scope and Direction
- Reports to: Facilities Director
- No direct reports
- FSLA Status: Hourly
- Rate of pay: $17.55
