Refuse Driver I

Essential Job Functions

• Supervises staff; assigns and monitors work; provides training to staff in proper methods and procedures and safety practices
• Maintains appropriate concentrations and levels of effluents and solids, and ensures that equipment is functioning properly
• Inspects plant instruments, equipment and operations in order to ensure efficient and proper functioning; adjusts and calibrates equipment as needed; conducts diagnostic and analytical tests on chemicals and equipment
• Checks mechanical condition of the treatment plant and sets daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance and repair schedules
• Compiles data and prepares reports on plant operations
• Enforces and monitors policies, procedures and practices related to plant operations
• Interacts with vendors, contractors, and engineers on products and supplies
• Maintains oversight of hazardous material disposal
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Three years of related experience, including some experience as a lead worker
• Class II Wastewater License
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License
• Knowledge of laws, rules and standards relating to wastewater collection and treatment

Supplemental Information

• Physical Requirements: Light Work
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
• Salary Grade: 37
