About the Role
We are seeking an Environmental Technician I to manage electronic asset processing, testing, and inventory in a warehouse setting. The role involves inspecting, cataloging, and securely handling electronic equipment, including removing HDDs/SSDs and disassembling devices using hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process electronic equipment.
- Create detailed asset reports with hardware details.
- Identify computer components such as processors, RAM, HDDs, SSDs.
- Operate shredding equipment for drives.
- Test electronics for functionality.
- Disassemble equipment safely using tools.
- Label and organize equipment and inventory.
- Handle equipment containing sensitive data securely.
- Assist with warehouse staging and loading/unloading equipment.
- Travel to customer sites for asset processing as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills and hardware knowledge.
- Attention to detail in recording asset information.
- Comfort with hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
- Strong organization, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Must pass a background check and understand data security importance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IT asset disposition, inventory software, or electronics recycling.
