Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs new equipment, repairs and modifies existing refrigeration/HVAC and boiler equipment.
- Performs necessary preventative maintenance on all equipment up to and including rebuilding compressors and boilers as needed and records necessary information.
- Trains other maintenance mechanics in ammonia refrigeration/HVAC/Boiler operations.
- Possess the ability and willingness to be state licensed, should this be mandated.
- Assists other maintenance mechanics in their duties when time permits.
- Able to work with limited supervision and provides feedback to Supervisors on maintenance concerns.
- Able to switch from nights to days monthly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 1-2 years in commercial refrigeration environment/boiler operation and/or accredited education preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations.
- Working knowledge of NH3 refrigeration principles and understanding of plant refrigeration systems, electric and mechanical procedures.
- Ability to read and understand schematics.
- Ability to pass hazmat tests and perform hazmat & confined space tasks.
- Mechanical ability to analyze production machinery and their function and repair.
- Willing to work weekends and various shifts.
