Refrigeration Maintenance, 3rd shift, Forest, MS

About the Role

This is an entry-level position in the Refrigeration Department focused on cleaning and maintaining Ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC/MAUs units on the roof, changing filters, cleaning the roof area, and shadowing Refrigeration Technicians to receive training on the ammonia refrigeration system. Candidates may be considered for future Refrigeration Technician openings.

Responsibilities include creating Maintenance Notifications, work orders, and confirming time in the SAP system, as well as performing other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean and wash Ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC/MAUs units on the roof
• Change filters and clean roof area
• Shadow Refrigeration Technicians to train on the ammonia refrigeration system
• Create Maintenance Notifications and work orders in the SAP system
• Confirm time entries in the SAP system
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet environments
• Capable of pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs.
• Able to climb ladders above 10 feet
• Ability to walk and stand for approximately 8.5 hours/day on a concrete floor
• Must be available to work 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays, and be off during the week
• Willingness to rotate shifts and work overtime as needed
• Must pass a Level 4 pulmonary function test and physical, with annual recertification required
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper fit for APR/SCBA equipment
• Membership in the Plant Hazmat Team is required
• Must complete Refrigeration and General Maintenance computer-based training
• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience within the past 2 years

Rehiring Criteria

• Applicants must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior
• Must have completed at least 180 days since their last employment with Tyson

Schedule

This is a 3rd shift position (overnight) with a work schedule of 6 days per week, including weekends and holidays.
