Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, inspection and/or repair of commercial-grade food preparation and holding appliances and equipment in all facilities owned or operated by Universal Studios Hollywood.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks, repairs and overseeing new and replacement installations.
- Diagnostics and repair of industrial kitchen and bakery equipment including mixers, direct steam kettles, proofers, sheeters, dough rounder, rack ovens, gas and electric kitchen equipment including fryers, steamers and ovens.
- Install electrical components and controls to circuits and test for proper operation.
- Inspect all cooking equipment, controls and devices within said equipment.
- Basic knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out).
- Equipment cleaning, care and maintenance.
- Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures within Technical Services and USH at large.
- Promote and provide extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answer questions, offer information, and provide assistance in a courteous manner.
- Understand and demonstrate the proper use of safety practices and ensure department standards are maintained and safety policies for the Park upheld.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older, with a minimum of 5-7 years of field experience in the trade systems.
- Will be required to join Local 40 union and pay respective dues.
- Knowledge of local health department codes.
- Must be able to understand and operate under Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and other food safety/sanitary guidelines.
- Knowledge of applicable code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance and safe operation of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Able to work a variety of schedules, overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice.
- Able to work in confined spaces, work at heights, and work inside extreme heat conditions at times.
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects up to 50lbs.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written on a technical level.
- Able to motivate employees and work independently and as part of a team.
- Desired Characteristics: 5-10 years experience of commercial kitchen equipment repair, AA degree or certificate of completion of Trade school, Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to team members to complete tasks at hand from a department level, Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure; proactive thinker/self-starter, Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, Ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical prints, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, Knowledge of MAXIMO CMMS or equivalent software a plus, Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge of inventory software, i.e. Maximo, Ability to contribute to system improvement process.
Physical Requirements

Pay Rate
$46.14 per hour
