Referral Specialist - TGMG Babcock Ranch

About the role

The Referral Specialist's primary role is to provide excellent customer service to physicians and patients referred for appointments or services at or from Tampa General Hospital (or a related company). The specialist assists patients and providers with scheduling provider-referred appointments within the health system or facilitates connections to outside groups at provider direction or based upon patient preference.

Responsibilities

• Process and track patient referrals
• Facilitate transfer of medical records
• Identify and route patient appointment information to correct recipient
• Create, modify, and cancel appointments
• Obtain authorizations and facilitate referrals as required
• Correspond with providers and patients
• Index faxes

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years experience in healthcare customer service
