About the role

The LPG Referral Facilitator is a highly motivated individual who exemplifies strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, flexibility, and a teamwork attitude to meet patient needs while adapting to shifting priorities. This role acts as a collaborator and supporter to achieve departmental goals and KPIs, maintaining exceptional quality in customer service and error rates.

The Facilitator enters non-Epic physician referral orders and medical records into the electronic health record system, scans referrals and records for accessibility by ancillary staff, and communicates effectively with patients, offices, and physicians regarding referrals. This position requires a working knowledge of referrals, In Basket messages, scheduling, and customer service, along with the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing duties.

Responsibilities are closely linked with those of Referral Coordinators, requiring effective communication and a team-oriented approach. The role also requires proficiency in all duties of a Patient Access Specialist II, cross-training in all department service lines, and the ability to maintain high-quality scores and low error rates.

Responsibilities

  • Enter non-Epic physician referral orders and medical records into the electronic health record system.
  • Scan referrals and medical records to ensure accessibility for ancillary staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, offices, and physicians regarding referrals, as needed.
  • Maintain proficiency in all duties of a Patient Access Specialist II.
  • Collaborate with Referral Coordinators to achieve departmental goals and KPIs.
  • Cross-train in all service lines of the department.
  • Uphold exceptional quality in customer service and maintain low error rates.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year of healthcare/scheduling experience, including 6 months of Epic experience (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer relations role (required).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of telephone etiquette, including excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, precisely, and clearly with other departments, physician practices, staff, and providers.
  • Proficient data entry and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Epic and Cadence (preferred).
  • Bilingual (Spanish), with the ability to read, write, and speak proficiently (a plus).

Schedule

Full-time, Shift 1: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay

$21.01 - $24.69 per hour
