Referral Coordinator - Neurosurgery
About the Role
Medical office position responsible for all referrals for the medical offices in the market.
Responsibilities
- Process patient referrals for the practices in the market
- Facilitate orders outside to outside facilities
- Coordinate scheduling of office visits for the referred patient
- Assist patient with finding resources that accept the various insurances
- Obtain pre-authorization from payers
- Call insurance companies to get medications approved that may have been denied due to formulary changes
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of experience working in a medical office setting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Completion of a medical assisting or medical office assistant program (preferred)
- Healthcare management/administration or Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
