Referral Coordinator - Neurosurgery

About the Role

Medical office position responsible for all referrals for the medical offices in the market.

Responsibilities

• Process patient referrals for the practices in the market
• Facilitate orders outside to outside facilities
• Coordinate scheduling of office visits for the referred patient
• Assist patient with finding resources that accept the various insurances
• Obtain pre-authorization from payers
• Call insurance companies to get medications approved that may have been denied due to formulary changes

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of experience working in a medical office setting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Completion of a medical assisting or medical office assistant program (preferred)
• Healthcare management/administration or Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
