Referral Coordinator - Ear, Nose, & Throat
Responsibilities
- Processes and follows up on referrals and procedure orders generated by providers.
- Initiates authorization for patient services.
- Knowledgeable about insurance coverages and documents authorizations.
- Communicates the status of authorizations to practice staff.
- Timely processing of incoming and outgoing referrals and orders.
- Documents all phone calls, messages, and interactions with patients and insurance companies.
- Obtains prior authorizations for all appointments and procedures.
- Updates patient demographics into the practice management system.
- Receives and routes incoming telephone calls professionally.
- Works closely with Baptist Medical Group Representatives, medical facilities, insurance companies, patients, and family members.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in healthcare or medical office.
- Good communication skills verbally and written.
- Organizing work, making assignments, and achieving goals and objectives.
- Prioritizing work.
- Skill and confidence with using computers and related software applications.
- Providing excellent customer service.
