Referral Coordinator
About the role
The Referral and Scheduling Coordinator 1 schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside of the primary care physician's office. The position typically works on routine and patterned assignments.
Responsibilities
- Gather and communicate all relative information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers.
- Perform basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks.
- Work on routine and patterned assignments.
Requirements
- 2 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting within the Medicare population.
- Referral and prior authorization experience.
- Proficient in medical terminology.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
- Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
