Key Responsibilities
- Provides core reference support, including triage of reference requests and responding to requests via phone, email, and in-person.
- Organizes and manages assigned tasks.
- Supports the collection repository and performs basic circulation functions.
- Delivers in-person customer service to the public, researchers, and other government agencies.
- Conducts archival research in the State’s permanent collections to facilitate access.
- Creates access and finding tools to aid in research and access.
- Develops outreach resources such as blogs and social media posts.
- Understands Utah’s history and records generally held by the State.
- Allows for facilitated access to other repositories as needed.
Qualifications
- Customer service skills.
- Research skills.
- Information literacy knowledge.
- Good communication skills.
- Writing skills.
- Masters degree in history, library science, or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge about the digitization of records.
- Basic archival processing knowledge.
