Archivist
About the role
We are seeking an Archivist for a part-time position, requiring 16 hours per week spread over two 8-hour shifts on-site. This role is essential for guiding the stewardship, preservation, organization, and accessibility of the organization’s physical and digital archival collections. The Archivist will support collection management, archival processing, and data governance to preserve and promote the company’s legacy.
Responsibilities
- Guide the stewardship, preservation, organization, and accessibility of physical and digital archival collections.
- Support collection management and archival processing.
- Aid with data governance and preservation planning.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development to meet archival standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to preserve and promote the company’s historical, product, and corporate legacy.
- Work in archival storage environments that may contain dust or other allergens.
- Lift and move archival materials and storage containers up to 30 pounds.
Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, History, Museum Studies, Information Science, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3–5+ years of professional experience in archives, records management, museums, special collections, or a related environment is necessary.
- Technical Skills: Experience managing both physical and digital collections is required. Proficiency with archival databases, collection management systems, and digital asset management tools is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with collection management systems and digital asset management platforms, particularly MuseumPlus.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, and metadata standards is preferred.
