About the role
The Redaction Specialist is responsible for reviewing and redacting law enforcement body camera video footage. The Specialist utilizes audio/visual editing programs for auditing and editing digital data. Contribute to the justice system by preserving and presenting facts for the courtroom today!
Job Contributions
- Organize video files for editing and/or storage; provide quality control, update, or include case information into MCAO's case management system, PbK
- Review the entire body camera video footage to determine what victim information or other specialized information needs to be removed to comply with Victims' rights under Arizona law
- Review recording evidence, including BWC evidence, to flag relevant, probative footage frames of either an inculpatory or exculpatory nature for further review by paralegals and prosecuting attorneys
- Follow employee policy and procedures for video redaction in Evidence.com
- Apply legal knowledge to ensure compliance with court rules
- Listen to video camera footage to determine if any audio needs to be redacted for discovery purposes
- Provide documentation regarding the redacted product for review and approval
- Aid Unit attorneys, prosecuting attorneys, and support staff with the use of Evidence.com
- Collaborate with prosecuting attorneys and paralegals to ensure uniformity of procedures and practices, office-wide, relating to BWC evidence
- Track work statistics for Monthly Reports and other internal office audit reports
Working Conditions
- Mostly office setting in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to sit for long periods while completing computer activities
- Must have the ability to lift boxes and/or pull mail carts weighing over 40 pounds
