About the role

We are seeking a RBC Processing Technician to provide day-to-day operations support for the Red Blood Cell Processing Department. Our ideal candidate must be able to adapt to changes in the daily/weekly schedule to ensure customer demands are met. This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the fulfillment of daily/weekly production support schedule and adapt to schedule and personnel changes to ensure internal customers needs and deliveries made.
  • Perform washroom activities, staging and setting up bottles for production use, maintaining inventory and Kanban System.
  • Assembling bottle preparation for manufacturing use, manifold assembly and other components.
  • Ability to operate large equipment such as carts, mixers and autoclaves.
  • Responsible for training on all procedures assigned.
  • Ability to be crossed trained to assist in other production areas or departments as needed.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
  • Created legible and accurate written records.
  • Review of documentation for assigned functions (equipment logs, manufacturing records, and cleaning records,etc.).
  • Follow GMP documents (SOPs, Manufacturing Records) with strict adherence to safety and compliance.
  • Follows OSHA safety regulations for blood borne pathogens.
  • Interacts cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, or managers of other departments, receives direction well from superiors and follows the Werfen values at all times.
  • Performs the transfer of diluent into various sized bags and bottles.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and software systems used in product support.
  • May be required to work irregular hours and days as necessary to meet production schedules.
  • Must be able to work within an evolving environment.
  • Must be able to accept change to the work schedule on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic to intermediate math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs and calculate standard laboratory formulas.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and software systems used in product support.
  • Has the ability to work irregular hours and days as necessary to meet production schedules.
  • Ability to stand over intervals of several hours at a time.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact cooperatively with coworkers and receive direction well from supervisors.
