RECYCLING TECHNICIAN

Duties and Responsibilities

• Strong and continuous focus on safety.
• Participate in our daily safety meetings.
• Frequently communicate on two-way radio to coordinate tasks.
• Work alongside operators and other recycling workers to ensure timely maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Aid the scale house in managing and directing truck load disposals.
• Maintain compliance with state regulation standards by ensuring proper waste and debris disposal.
• Prepare and secure trailers for hauler transport.
• Manage waste and debris on access roadways leading into and throughout the facility.
• Support operators in fueling and maintenance checks of equipment.
• Track and report fuel measurements from different storage tanks.
• Assist in conducting pre and post-trip equipment inspections.
• Analyze daily wind directions to establish and coordinate facility muster points.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to learning and adhering to safety and OSHA regulations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of small engine operations and maintenance (e.g., lawn mowers, pressure washers).
• Proficient with basic tools such as hammers, drills, and impact wrenches.
• Basic understanding of mathematics and measurement principles.
• Capable of giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
