Recycling Operations Facility Manager II

About the role

The Recycling Operations Facility Manager II (ROFMII) oversees operational and maintenance activities across multiple facilities. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating material transfers, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Supports overall H&S issues by collaborating with the Regional Safety Engineer(s).
• Ensures Environmental compliance by working with the Regional Environmental Manager.
• Maintains H&S and Environmental Compliance programs.
• Monitors and implements corrective action plans following incidents or accidents.
• Ensures facility volume quotas are met by communicating with the Commercial Group.
• Promotes Continuous Improvement for the facilities, administration, and management of Production and Maintenance employees.
• Reviews and validates operational data for accuracy and validity.
• Assesses the effectiveness of transportation and sub-contractors.
• Maintains accurate material inventories in all facilities.
• Ensures compliance with internal controls and quality control programs.
• Operates facilities within established budgets and recommends capital expenditures.
• Maintains and monitors staff levels and supervisory practices.
• Interviews prospective employees and works with Human Resources personnel.
• Manages special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum of 5-10 years previous experience in steel scrap yard operations, and familiarity with physical operations and personnel. A college degree is preferred, and project management experience or specialized knowledge is a plus. A valid driver's license is required.

• Ability to communicate professionally in various settings.
