About the role
The Recycling Operations District Manager (RODM) oversees operational and administrative functions across multiple facilities. Key responsibilities include ensuring environmental and health & safety compliance, maintaining operational performance, managing equipment and inventory, budgeting, and supervising staff.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard and comply with H&S and environmental regulations.
- Oversee production levels and forecast future needs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate material inventories and quality control.
- Operate within budget constraints and recommend capital expenditures.
- Manage staff and maintain compliance with HR policies.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Support internal control processes and address operational issues.
Requirements
This role demands a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in steel scrap yard operations and a college degree is preferred. Project management experience and specialized knowledge are beneficial. A valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle are essential.
