About the role

This is a night shift position working 12-hour shifts (7pm-7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule with alternating weekends off at our Manteno Plant. The role focuses on maintaining the highest level of safety, scrap collection, and a clean work environment throughout the warehouse and outside grounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety throughout the plant.
  • Optimize baling efforts by continuing to segregate clear and color bale materials.
  • Collect corrugated material and bale it.
  • Collect paper in gaylords and cans/bottles from the breakroom.
  • Keep collected materials in the supplied trailer whenever possible.
  • Maintain a Bill of Lading for all material going onto the trailer, with copies sent to Accounting and Jadcore.
  • Notify your team leader or shipping supervisor if a trailer or compactor needs to be removed.
  • Clean areas used in the plant, including the scale area, compactor area, outside dock grounds, storage area, and equipment.
  • Clean the plastics baler between bales to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Follow the LOTO (Lock-out/Tag-out) procedure each time you enter the open side of the balers.
  • Support the Manteno culture and be an active part of your assigned team.
  • Communicate daily with your Team Leader regarding tasks or information.
  • Remove plastic/garbage from the production floor several times a day.
  • Sweep your area at least once daily and clean all equipment once a week.
  • Maintain a clean and neat desk.
  • Support Food Safety Culture activities and acknowledge the Zip-Pak policy on self-reporting illnesses or foodborne pathogens.
  • Sort pallets and clean outside grounds.
  • Perform weekly and monthly warehouse cleaning.
  • Wrap finished pallets and remove dead pallets.
  • Clean the production floor weekly and monthly.
  • Remove ZT film from cores.
  • Stock and organize vinyl supplies.
  • Complete daily resin traceability sheets.

Pay

The hourly pay range for a Recycle Operator is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour for the Chicagoland area. The specific hiring rate within this range will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

Schedule

Night shift: 12-hour shifts (7pm–7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule with alternating weekends off.
