About the role
Position within the Agriculture Department, Government of the Punjab, based at the Multan office of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Horticulture project.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and collect horticultural data using MRI and other diagnostic tools.
- Analyze soil, plant, and water samples for nutrient deficiencies and disease identification.
- Prepare detailed reports on crop health, yield forecasts, and recommended interventions.
- Collaborate with extension workers to disseminate best practices to local farmers.
- Maintain and calibrate MRI and related laboratory equipment.
- Organize training sessions and workshops for stakeholders on modern horticultural techniques.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Pathology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in horticultural research, field diagnostics, or agricultural extension.
- Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and interpreting imaging results.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
- Fluency in English, Urdu, and Punjabi (spoken and written).
