About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Recruitment and Enrollment Services, the Recruitment Counselor will plan and carry out in-person and virtual recruitment and yield activities, including on- and off-campus events. You will liaise with designated high school and community partners, participate in direct recruitment activities, and leverage technology to support student success. The role involves collaborating across the college to support equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives while promoting an inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of the student body and local community.

The following competencies are required: ability to work effectively in a diversified environment, critical thinking, relationship building, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and implementing student recruitment activities, including outreach to high schools and community partners.
  • Promote admission processes for all academic programs and assist in developing and implementing recruitment programs and events both on and off campus.
  • Advise prospective students and families on educational opportunities, academic program offerings, and enrollment procedures.
  • Represent the College at college fairs, career fairs, high school visits, and other off-campus recruitment activities.
  • Utilize the Banner student information system, Ellucian Recruit CRM, and EAB Navigate to track and communicate with prospective students and applicants.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and customize all campus visits, including school group visits.
  • Serve as a SEVP-approved Designated School Official (DSO) for international students.
  • Collaborate with enrollment services departments, academic support programs, and campus staff to coordinate admissions information sessions, enrollment events, and activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of admissions success, including compiling admissions information, contributing to assessment activities, and reporting.
  • Contribute to a positive office environment and student-centered approach to unit activities.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive connection to all students and actively support diversity.
  • Periodically work evenings and weekends to participate in college enrollment and recruitment activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience and/or training involving public education, college admissions, academic advisement, or customer service; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
  • A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required to travel to area high schools and recruitment sites.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with EAB Navigate or other similar educational technologies.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner and Ellucian Recruit CRM or other similar student information systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in building a climate that elevates equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working in a community college, similar institution of higher education, community organization, or large institution.

Pay

Salary Range: $58,979 - $70,119 per year (Grade 3). Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Schedule

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Periodic evening and weekend work required for enrollment and recruitment activities.
