Recruitment and Programming Specialist
About the role
The Recruitment and Programming Specialist supports LeBow College of Business in recruitment, retention, student services, engagement, and curriculum development for the freshman business sequence. This role oversees LeBow Summer Programs, pre-college programming, learning communities/cohorts, the dean's student advisory board (DSAB), honors day, and other retention efforts. The Specialist collaborates with faculty, administration, and external stakeholders to execute undergraduate student programming, recruitment, and retention. This position reports to the Director of UG Program and Recruitment and works closely with the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Retention, LeBow Student Services/Advising Staff, and LeBow faculty.
Note: This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.
Responsibilities
- Manage the recruitment and logistical process for LeBow pre-college programs
- Serve as the co-chair of the LeBow Student Group Roundtable
- Coordinate the initiatives of LeBow College's business student groups
- Manage and recruit students to serve on Dean's Student Advisory Board
- Manage and develop programming for LeBow learning communities including BLC, GLC, and CLC
- Assist UG Programming in developing annual retention-based programming for students, parents, and other stakeholders
- Supervise student workers
- Participate in commencement activities
- Assist in developing freshmen culture program for international and domestic students
- Oversee domestic high school partnerships
- Attend and actively participate in all enrollment management activities, including open house, admitted student days, daily visits, etc.
- Actively schedule and participate in college anti-melt activities
- Empower prospective students to make informed decisions regarding personal, professional, enrollment, and academic needs
- Provide off-site representation for LeBow and Drexel University
- Coordinate high school partnership opportunities
- Maintain familiarity with DECA, FBLA, and other student organizations
- Support College Day activities
- Coordinate programming for LeBow Launch
- Manage and provide oversight for retention initiatives (e.g., rising stars award, etc.)
- Oversee DSAB meetings and program coordination
- Support administration of Anti-Melt initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- At least 1-2 years of job-related experience in advising, student life, admissions and/or recruiting, teaching and/or coaching, or non-profit work
- Ability to work evenings, overnights, and/or weekends as related to essential duties
- Documented project management skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to outstanding customer service
- Strong organizational, time management, data analytics, and project management skills
- Practical experience with young adults, student development, and relationship building
- Foundational understanding of best practices, trends, and approaches in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrable proficiency with PCs and related software
- Experience with Banner, Hyperion, Canvas, and meeting software
- Exceptional customer service aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Subject matter expertise including extensive knowledge of university offerings, services, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common personal computer applications
Pay & Schedule
- Classification: Exempt, grade I
- Compensation range: $45,330.00 – $68,000.00 per year (offered rate varies based on qualifications, experience, department budget, and internal equity review)
- Location: University City – Philadelphia, PA
- Work schedule: Evenings, overnights, and/or weekends required as related to essential duties
