Our Penske hiring team is expanding, and we are seeking a Recruiting Supervisor to lead a centralized hiring center team focused on hiring diesel technicians across North America. This role involves managing, training, coaching, and motivating a recruiting and hiring center staff while collaborating with internal customers, including location managers, to assess hiring needs and provide updates on hiring activity.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of Hiring Specialists, ensuring proper prioritization of recruiting needs, workload distribution, and business continuity.
- Assist with issue resolution and promote behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure strong collaboration between Operations leaders, HR leaders, and all Recruiting team members to align staffing needs and activities.
- Verify Hiring Specialists follow Penske’s recruiting process consistently through quality selection, audits, assessments, and customer feedback.
- Oversee team management activities, including hiring, performance management, associate relations, expense report management, training, and compliance with company programs.
- Lead team engagement activities to ensure job satisfaction and workforce productivity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for staffing processes and systems, including contact center technologies (NICE), telephony systems, Salesforce.com, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, and other CRM/marketing tools.
- Handle special assignments and tasks as assigned by management, such as process improvement initiatives or short-term projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant recruiting work experience and leadership.
- 2+ years of team leadership experience, or 3+ years of Penske experience with a record of highly successful performance and increasing responsibility.
- Prior responsibility for leading a team to execute defined outputs through training, engagement, coaching, development, and conflict management (e.g., recruiting team management, contact center management, retail management, or driver/terminal management).
- At least 3 years’ experience as a recruiter or as a manager responsible for interviewing and hiring.
- Experience hiring vehicle repair technicians preferred.
- Recruiting team or contact center management experience highly preferred.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively in-person and in writing with candidates, peers, managers, and leadership.
- Bilingual Spanish communication skills a plus.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete Penske’s employment application process, including background investigation and drug screening.
Physical Requirements

- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; frequently use hands to touch, handle, and feel; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs/12 kg.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
