About the role
This position supports the Caregiver Relations and Human Resources Department by serving as a primary point of contact between the agency and applicants. The Recruitment Specialist performs all recruitment activities, including recruiting, screening, and onboarding applicants, while ensuring regulatory compliance and documentation for the agency’s staff. This role is based in our Gaithersburg, Maryland office.
Responsibilities
- Execute full lifecycle recruitment for open positions.
- Develop relationships with nursing schools to attract students as potential caregivers.
- Participate in recruiting events such as job fairs.
- Assist with developing recruitment strategies to attract candidates.
- Develop a pool of candidates in advance of needs.
- Onboard new caregivers in accordance with company policies to meet client demand.
- Interview and evaluate applicants for fit with the agency and complete interview assessment forms.
- Assist new caregivers with required paperwork, background screenings, licenses/certifications, and physician examinations.
- Conduct reference checks.
- Capture caregiver attributes and availability and enter them into enterprise software for client matching.
- Work closely with the Caregiver Relations Manager and Client Liaisons to match caregivers to clients.
- Assist with caregiver satisfaction surveys and advise agency management on recommended actions.
- Perform other caregiver-facing tasks and responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of recruitment experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably two to three years.
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
- Collaborates well with other agency staff.
- Follows company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
- Wears identification while on duty and uses time system correctly.
- Completes in-services in a timely fashion.
- Attends annual reviews, department in-services, and staff meetings regularly.
- Represents the agency in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Complies with all agency policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the agency.
- Must be action-oriented.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; additional languages preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the functions of and regulations affecting the agency.
- Demonstrated teamwork capabilities with the ability to relate well to staff and other professionals.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, collaborate, and advocate for agency clients.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal guidelines and regulations governing the agency.
