Recruiting for Indium Phosphide (InP) - Engineers & Technicians

About the role

Coherent Corp is actively recruiting InP Engineers and Technicians for its semiconductor device group in Sherman, TX. The position involves supporting the design, fabrication, and testing of InP-based semiconductor devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment for InP wafer processing, device fabrication, and characterization.
• Perform process development, testing, and optimization for InP-based devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to materials, devices, and process flow.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
• Document experiments, results, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Engineer Level: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field. Hands-on experience with III-V semiconductors, particularly Indium Phosphide.
• Technician Level: Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field. Experience in semiconductor fabrication, photonics, or cleanroom environments.

Qualifications

• Engineer Level: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Technician Level: Proficiency in operating laboratory and process equipment. Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and maintain accurate records.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of InP-based lasers, modulators, and photonic integrated circuits.
• Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or R&D environment.
