Recruiter & Training Coord
Primary Function
This is a dual-role position and is essential to supporting our manufacturing workforce by overseeing the recruitment of wage manufacturing employees and working with department managers to develop effective training programs to ensure their success. This individual will be hands-on in manufacturing and develop a solid understanding of the workforce hiring and training needs for our production employees.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain skilled wage manufacturing employees.
Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, employee referrals, and job fairs.
Conduct initial screenings, interviews, and assessments to identify qualified candidates.
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure timely placement.
Maintain an up-to-date talent pipeline to address current and future hiring needs.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws during the hiring process.
Work with the Department Managers to implement and evaluate training programs for manufacturing employees, including onboarding, safety training, skill development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on employee feedback and performance metrics.
Ensure training initiatives comply with company best practices.
Maintain detailed records of recruitment and training activities, including employee certifications and training completions.
Act as a liaison between HR, manufacturing teams, and leadership to ensure alignment on hiring and training goals.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and employee development.
Physical Requirements
Standing: May be up to 12 hours per day on concrete/wood/carpeted floor for presenting/recruiting as necessary
Sitting: As required to perform tasks; frequency up and down: up to 100 times/day
Moving: Throughout Department and other locations to collaborate on issues; up to 30 times/day
Climbing: As required to go from one level to another; up to 50 times/day, able to use stairs & ladders as necessary
Lifting: As required to assist others; anything over 50 pounds requires assistance; frequency may be 100 times/day
Push/Pull: To assist others; may be 500 times/day
Reaching: Reach through three body zones and around body; frequency may be 200 times/day
Visual Acuity: Depending on job necessity may be required to detect color; minimum of 20/40 corrected eyesight
Bending/Stooping: Depending on assignment may be up to 100 times/day
Hearing/Speaking: Adequate to communicate over telephone and internet calls
Other: May be required to operate a motor vehicle or similar device multiple times/day
Environmental/Safety Risk Requirements
Exposure to Fiberglass, fly, dust, finishing fumes or other chemicals.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required by task
Mandatory Prerequisites
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or 5 - 7 years of direct recruiting and training responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with candidates, employees, and leadership teams.
At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on recruiting or training.
Proficiency in recruitment platforms and training management systems.
