Qualifications
- Preferred Background (Strongly Valued): Experience in nonprofit human services, especially working directly with individuals with disabilities.
- Past roles such as Direct Service Provider (DSP), Job Coach, Vocational Counselor, or Employment Specialist.
- Strong understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and Down syndrome.
- Familiarity with supported employment, benefits navigation, and common employment barriers (e.g., transportation).
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 2 - 5 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, workforce development, or related field.
- Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment and candidate case management.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel experience preferred.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Position Details
- Title: Contract Recruiter – National Nonprofit Association
- Location: Chicago, IL OR Vienna, VA – Hybrid (2 days/week in office)
- Schedule: Full time; Monday–Friday
- Contract: Open-ended with strong likelihood of extension
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain referral relationships with nonprofit partners and community organizations to connect job seekers with disabilities to open roles.
- Share job opportunities across the National Nonprofit Association network and encourage partner participation in candidate referral efforts.
- Screen and interview candidates to assess qualifications, job fit, and support needs.
- Support candidates through applications, interview preparation, and job search navigation, proactively removing barriers to employment.
- MATCH qualified candidates to relevant opportunities, including AbilityOne roles, with hands-on support through background checks and documentation.
- PARTNER with internal stakeholders to understand hiring priorities, referral trends, and workforce needs.
- TRACK recruiting activity, referrals, and outcomes to support reporting and continuous improvement.
- REPRESENT the organization's mission in a professional, collaborative, and service-oriented manner.
