Wake Forest University seeks a Recruiter II to assess hiring needs, recommend best practices, and implement creative strategies to attract credentialed faculty and staff while advancing the University’s diversity recruitment goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide full-cycle recruiting services, including sourcing, interviewing, assessing, and coordinating search logistics for critical staff and faculty roles.
- Lead executive searches and serve as an HR consultant to faculty, staff, and hiring managers.
- Spearhead recruitment projects and conduct research in partnership with the recruitment team.
- Collaborate with the Provost and Deans' office to streamline faculty hiring practices and develop program-specific recruiting strategies.
- Source talent through faculty/staff referrals, networking, proactive outreach, social media, and offline channels.
- Leverage social media platforms to develop and implement strategies that engage a broad audience, in collaboration with HR communications.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on talent recruiting processes for faculty and staff.
- Educate, guide, and consult with hiring managers and department leaders on recruitment best practices.
- Conduct cyclical planning meetings with Deans, Department Heads, and faculty to create program-specific recruiting strategies.
- Build applicant sources by contacting universities and organizations, and fostering collaboration with other recruiters.
- Deliver on recruitment metrics, targeting requisition fill times within 120 days.
- Develop advertising options to help hiring managers promote openings to qualified audiences.
- Represent the University at career fairs and networking events, highlighting the benefits of working at Wake Forest and living in Winston-Salem.
- Review applicant qualifications and provide hiring recommendations to managers and search committees.
- Communicate frequently with active and passive candidates, conducting informational interviews.
- Mitigate risk by adhering to legislative requirements and navigating international hiring processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the recruitment experience through innovation and process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a related field (or equivalent).
- Experience recruiting prospective faculty in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and ability to project a professional demeanor in a dynamic, diverse community.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and driven to find the best applicants while creating a strong candidate experience.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability; ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
- Proficiency in social media (especially LinkedIn), Google applications, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with full-lifecycle recruiting, including sourcing, networking, screening, and negotiation.
- Aptitude to interact with all levels of academic and administrative leadership.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; works collaboratively or independently as needed.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems.
- General knowledge of HR functions, employment laws, guidelines, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education institution that emphasizes teaching and research.
- Proficiency with the Workday system.
