About the role
The Professional Services Group at The Phoenix Group is a relationship‑driven practice placing paralegals, executive assistants, HR managers, operations leads and similar professionals who keep organizations functioning. Based in Midtown Manhattan, the role is hybrid (Tuesday‑Thursday in‑office, Monday‑Friday remote). You’ll run a full‑cycle desk placing legal and administrative professionals across law firms, financial services companies, and corporate environments on direct hire and consulting engagements, building long‑term candidate and client relationships that turn clients into long‑term partners.
Responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle recruiting for legal and administrative roles: source, screen, present, and close candidates on both direct hire and consulting placements
- Build and maintain deep candidate pipelines in your practice areas — know who’s actively looking, who’s open to the right conversation, and who to call when a client needs
- Develop and own client relationships: understand what each client actually needs (not just what’s on the job description), advise on market realities, and deliver candidates
- Partner with hiring managers and client contacts to align on role requirements, compensation benchmarks, and candidate profiles before sourcing begins
- Manage the offer and onboarding process through start date; stay in contact post‑placement to drive repeat business, referrals, and long‑term account growth
- Leverage Bullhorn ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, and AI‑powered sourcing tools to work efficiently across multiple active searches
- Contribute market intelligence on compensation trends, talent availability, and competitor activity that helps TPG position the Professional Services division more effectively
- Mentor junior team members as your tenure and performance grow — sharing candidate relationship strategies, client communication approaches, and process
Requirements
- 3+ years of agency staffing experience in legal, admin, or professional services (hard requirement)
- Demonstrated experience placing legal, administrative, HR, or operations professionals; direct experience with law firm clients is a plus
- A track record you can speak to: you know your placement numbers, client retention, and what differentiates you from other recruiters
Skills
- Genuine relationship instincts — remembering candidates, proactive follow‑up, building networks that pay off over time
- Client development ability: comfortable asking for business, managing expectations, and pushing back on unfillable requisitions
- Strong written and verbal communication that reflects well on you and TPG
- Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously without losing quality
- Experience with Bullhorn ATS (a plus)
- Comfort with LinkedIn Recruiter and AI‑powered sourcing tools
Schedule
8:30 AM‑5:30 PM EST, with Summer Fridays featuring an early office close.
