About Laboratory Testing

Laboratory Testing (LTI) has been the trusted testing partner for mission‑critical industries since 1984, when Robert and Mike McVaugh opened its doors as a local metallurgical lab. Today, LTI is ISO 17025 and NADCAP accredited, providing destructive and non‑destructive testing, machining, and calibration services for close to 3,000 customers across the aerospace, defense, space, and nuclear supply chains. The company remains family‑led in its third generation and has partnered with Kanbrick, a long‑term investment partnership, to support its next phase of growth while preserving its core values.

About the role

LTI is scaling headcount and needs a recruiter who can own the full arc of hiring. Reporting to LTI’s HR Business Partner, you will build pipelines, run the recruiting process, and close candidates who raise the bar. You will typically manage five to fifteen open searches at a time, spanning skilled lab and technical roles as well as corporate and SG&A positions. The role is on‑site at LTI’s Hatfield headquarters with travel to events, schools, and associations where talent is found.

Responsibilities

  • Own full‑cycle recruiting from sourcing strategy and outreach through signed offer and completed pre‑employment requirements.
  • Partner with hiring managers as a consultant: translate business needs into hiring criteria and job descriptions, educate managers on the recruiting process, and enforce consistency.
  • Run structured interview guides and scorecards, coaching managers to assess candidates against standardized standards.
  • Ensure hiring practices comply with federal and state employment law and record‑keeping obligations for regulated supply chains.
  • Build talent pipelines through relationships with regional trade and technical schools, vo‑tech programs, community colleges, certification programs, industry associations, and military transition programs.
  • Attend job fairs and events, advocating for LTI as an employer brand and making a case for participation in approved events and partnerships.
  • Develop and launch a formal internship program, collaborating with lab and functional leaders to convert strong interns into full‑time hires.
  • Analyze market data on role costs, talent supply, and channel effectiveness to shape LTI’s recruiting strategy.
  • Manage recruiting within ADP Workforce Now (WFN), configuring requisitions, approvals, and interview feedback workflows, and maintaining accurate candidate records.
  • Leverage AI tools for sourcing research, market mapping, and screening to increase efficiency.
  • Build the hiring function from the ground up, establishing sourcing channels, employer brand, processes, and technology.
  • Operate independently within the first year, setting the direction for where LTI competes for talent.

Requirements

  • Proven success recruiting skilled labor; this is non‑negotiable.
  • 3–5 years of full‑cycle recruiting experience, with at least two years hiring skilled trades or technical roles.
  • Experience hiring corporate and SG&A roles is a plus but not required.
  • Degree not required; PHR or SHRM‑CP certification welcome but not expected.
  • Demonstrated ability to build pipelines rather than rely on an application queue, with concrete examples of results.
  • Track record of developing non‑traditional talent channels (trade schools, certification programs, military pipelines) and hiring from them.
  • Ability to maintain hiring standards under pressure and to flag when a search is drifting toward speed over quality.
  • Familiarity with structured interview guides and scorecards, or ability to adopt and teach them quickly.
  • Comfort working inside an HRIS and improving workflows rather than circumventing them.
  • AI‑native mindset: regularly use AI tools for research, analysis, and problem‑solving, with specific examples of business impact.
  • Strong pace management: move quickly without dropping candidates, communicate directly with managers and candidates, and proactively flag issues.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Company‑paid life and disability insurance.
