Recruiter & Admissions Specialist
Job Summary
The David Eccles School of Business is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and goal-driven Recruiter & Admissions Specialist to support the Master of Business Administration and Specialized Master's Programs.
Responsibilities
Prospective Student Outreach: Engage with prospective students (domestic and global) through various communication channels, including phone, Zoom, in-person meetings, email, and events, to build relationships and generate interest in graduate programs.
Pipeline Development: Proactively identify and engage prospective students through targeted outreach, professional networking platforms, events, referrals, and other recruitment channels to build and strengthen enrollment pipelines.
Lead Management: Gather, track, and manage leads from events, outreach efforts, and prospective student activity using Salesforce. Maintain and develop lead lists to support ongoing engagement and drive application submissions.
Targeted Outreach & Re-Engagement: Conduct strategic follow-up with prospective students, including inactive leads, delayed applicants, and other high-potential candidates, to create additional enrollment opportunities.
One-on-One Engagement: Conduct personalized meetings with prospective students to discuss their educational and career goals, review application readiness, and provide tailored guidance on program fit and next steps.
Application Follow-Up: Contact prospective students who have started applications to encourage completion and provide ongoing support throughout the application process.
Partnership Development: Collaborate with higher education institutions, employer partners, alumni, professional organizations, and community partners to identify recruiting opportunities, expand program awareness, and support prospective student pipelines.
Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and participate in recruitment activities such as graduate fairs, information sessions, on-campus Preview Days, webinars, networking events, and employer or community events. Coordinate event logistics and prospective student follow-up.
Admissions Responsibilities:
Application Coordination & Review: Oversee the application process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of submitted materials. Collaborate with the team to evaluate applications and identify qualified candidates.
Personalized Counseling: Provide one-on-one guidance to prospective students, helping them navigate the admissions process and understand program details, requirements, and next steps.
Onboarding Support: Work closely with the Student Affairs team to facilitate a smooth transition and onboarding process for newly admitted students.
Graduate Admissions Collaboration: Work with the Office of Graduate Admissions to resolve application issues, support international applicants, and ensure a seamless admissions process.
Scholarship Management: Assist with identifying and awarding scholarships to eligible candidates and communicating scholarship decisions.
Data Integrity: Maintain accurate prospective student and admissions records in Salesforce, perform regular data clean-up, and ensure data accuracy for reporting and historical reference.
Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Program Specialists, I: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree. Program Specialists, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or similar roles requiring strong relationship-building skills in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a proven track record of delivering compelling presentations and engaging effectively across various channels.
Work Ethic and Time Management: Strong competitive drive and work ethic, with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high accuracy, ensuring data integrity and meticulous documentation.
Independent Decision-Making: Proven ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions. A history of successful problem-solving and innovative resource management is essential.
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated organizational abilities with a history of effective workload prioritization and understanding of complex processes and policies.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM systems is preferred.
