Recreational Therapist - PRN

About the role

This is a per diem (PRN) position, ideally working Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our mission is to provide an exceptional patient care experience that promotes healing and recovery in a compassionate environment. Here, you will provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital, and the profession.
• Responsible for provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload.
• Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides hospital-wide leisure, social, and divergent programs.
• Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
• Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required to start.
