Salary: $18.69 - $28.04 hourly ($38,885 - $58,327 annually). This position is a Pay Band C3 and may be used for ongoing recruitment.
About the role
This job exists to provide recreational therapeutic activities within an established recreational program at a residential treatment center as part of the resident's treatment plan. The position will plan, organize, and direct recreational activities for residents.
Our facility is a secure center serving adolescent males ages 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct recreational activities for residents as part of their treatment plan.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid NM driver's license and Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Must pass a background check.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience creating recreational activities and plans for adolescents between the ages of 13 to 17.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors.
- May work in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
- Pushing, pulling, moving, or lifting up to 100 lbs. with assistance may be necessary.
