Recreational Therapist

About the Role

Seeking a Therapeutic Certified Recreational Therapist to provide therapeutic recreation programs in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions
• Work collaboratively with staff, participants, families, and funders
• Maintain compliance with regulations
• Manage recreational equipment
• Advocate for recreational therapy
• Pursue continuing education to ensure best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy
• Minimum of two years' experience in rehabilitation or neurological/developmental work
• CTRS certification
• Knowledge of rehabilitative techniques for neurological impairments
• Strong communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interpret multidisciplinary evaluations and handle stress professionally
