About the role
We are seeking a Therapeutic Certified Recreational Therapist to deliver therapeutic recreation programs in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions using recreational activities.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations upon admission to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with staff to facilitate participant growth and rehabilitation.
- Develop and update the rehabilitation plan of care tailored to each participant's needs.
- Communicate with participants, families, and funders regarding progress and needs.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
- Ensure safe use of recreational equipment and advocate for therapeutic recreation awareness.
- Engage in continued education to stay current with best practices and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy.
- At least two years of experience in rehabilitation or working with neurological/developmental deficits.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
- Knowledge of rehabilitative techniques and ability to interpret multidisciplinary evaluations.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and empathy.
