Recreational Therapist - Adolescent Psych (FT)

Responsibilities

• Responds to physicians’ orders for patient assessment and treatment.
• Identifies individual patient needs and designs an activity therapy program for all patients.
• Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to patient care in collaboration with the patient, family/significant others, and the treatment team.
• Develops and implements individualized patient treatment plans and group programs.
• Facilitates interventions to restore, remediate or rehabilitate patients’ functioning and increase patients’ independence.
• Documents evaluation of patient progress toward goals, patients’ response to interventions, modification to treatment as necessary, and discharge/transition plans.
• Demonstrates leadership in the profession and organization by advocating for and facilitating necessary change and initiatives.
• Exemplifies quality service provision.
• Manages professional practice through promoting and demonstrating accountability.
• Participates in improvement and resource management by evaluating, developing, and coordinating specialized programs.
• Engages in evidence-based research and quality improvement activities for the clinical service team and department.
• Affords assistance in the acquisition and maintenance of supplies, equipment and facility planning.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (or registration eligible) required.
• Current NC licensure as Recreational Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
