About the role
The Recreational Activities Staff works with the Recreational Therapist to improve the lives of individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with leisure planning, social skills, community integration, physical fitness, and overall quality of life.
- Facilitate one-on-one and group social and physical sessions.
- Aid in planning and facilitating cognitively stimulating programs.
- Coordinate large events and gatherings, including reservations, food & beverage, and entertainment.
- Conduct therapeutic groups as directed by the Recreational Therapist.
- Develop leadership, communication, time-management, professional compromising, and interpersonal skills.
- Assist clients with ADL’s if needed.
Requirements
- Full-time flexible schedule of days, nights, and weekends.
- Criminal background check required.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Basic knowledge of TBI/SCI (training provided).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive and energetic attitude to encourage client engagement.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 lbs.
