$22.50 - $34.14 hourly. Direct Care supplement up to $10/week. Additional $2.00/hour for varying weekends and holidays.

Full-time, 1st-shift Recreational Therapist I-II position. Proposed schedule: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience, and vice versa.

Responsibilities

Recreation Therapist I

  • Implement and review recreational therapy activities to promote constructive use of leisure time, physical well-being, and socialization of residents.
  • Advise staff of recreational activity needs to meet program objectives.
  • Explain the effect of combining recreational therapy with other treatments to recommend appropriate programs.
  • Update resident documentation and evaluation reports to ensure records are current.
  • Instruct recreational therapy groups.
  • Select and store recreational equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Participate in conferences with other professionals to discuss and evaluate resident needs.

Recreation Therapist II

  • Provide recreational therapy review and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement recreational therapy treatment programs.
  • Coordinate recreational treatment programs, including intergenerational activities, community-based activities, and physical wellness programs.
  • Supervise and train new staff, providing ongoing support and facilitating training as needed.
  • Ensure recreational therapy treatment quality standards are met.
  • Advise management regarding recreational therapy needs.

Requirements

Recreation Therapist I

  • Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after high school.
  • National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and authorization to use the initials CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist).
  • Recreational Therapist license valid in New Hampshire.

Recreation Therapist II

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after high school, including at least 1 year working as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
  • National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and authorization to use the initials CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist).
  • Recreational Therapist license valid in New Hampshire.

Career Advancement

Recreation Therapist I

  • Broad Group Level Advancement available to Recreation Therapist III after one year in the current title, satisfactory performance evaluation, and supervisor recommendation.

Recreation Therapist II

  • No in-band or broad group level advancement available.

Pay

$22.50 - $34.14 per hour. Additional compensation for weekends and holidays.

Schedule

Full-time, 1st shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with varying weekends and holidays.
