RECREATION THERAPIST (BA)

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Recreational Therapist to join our team at Cedar Hills Hospital. Cedar Hills Hospital is a behavioral health hospital and outpatient services program that serves adults facing an acute behavioral health crisis related to issues of mental health, substance abuse and substance use disorder, as well as co-occurring disorders related to these circumstances. Our programs aim to provide lasting mental health rehabilitation through programs that re-establish a high quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activity services for assigned program
• Define and implement treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team
• Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in occupational, art, music, or recreational therapy, social work or related therapeutic discipline; Master's degree in art therapy preferred
• Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred
• Licensure: Substance abuse certificate and/or state licensure preferred
