Recreation Therapist

Qualifications

• Registered/Certified Recreational Therapist (Required)
• Minimum one year experience working with acute or long-term inpatient psychiatric patients preferred.
• Possess teaching skills and have experience running a variety of therapeutic programs preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Position Summary

The Recreation Therapist plans and administers activities treatment for patients with emotional disabilities, illness, or injury through the use of interview, cognitive tasks, physical conditioning, social skills, activities, etc., in accordance with physician prescription.
