About the role

This position oversees recreation center activities such as afternoon summer programs, youth programming, and payment collections. The role also includes assisting patrons with registration and payment, maintaining cleanliness, and monitoring the recreation center and gymnasium.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, supervises, and monitors activities in the recreation center.
• Maintains cleanliness of the recreation center and sanitizes assigned areas.
• Assists patrons with registration and payment; inputs information into system; provides information about activities and future events.
• Makes sure the recreation center and gymnasium are monitored.
• Ensures the recreation center is properly cleaned and sanitized in a timely manner for the safety of the community.

Requirements

• Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including computers and applicable software.
• Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Knowledge of proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of recreation center programs and events.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries.
• Ability to enforce rules of the gym and recreation center.
• Ability to organize youth programming.

Qualifications

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency. Less than 1 year experience in recreational program or camp counseling, working with children, recreation programs, or related experience. Valid Texas Driver License. Valid Infant, Child, & Adult CPR certification. Valid First Aid certification.
